New Haven Photographs: A Future History is striving towards a clarity of vision that enables us to witness the divinity underlying both the sensational as well as the mundane. The images in this book suggest the power we have to create new ways of seeing that are more true to the miracle of reality and the phenomenon of our unique, individual and shared existence.

At a time when we are everyday faced with the challenges of cooperating as a whole humanity; when the social and political disasters abroad corrupt our ability to find joy in the familiar; when we are looking for peace and trying to build a pathway towards tolerance and celebration NOT discrimination of our amazing variety – it is essential that we exercise our power to see the world anew with vision unclouded by over-exposure or cynicism or helplessness. To look around you and know that it is in your power to see beauty and find inspiration in commonly overlooked and unlikely places as well as revelations in the familiar; this contributes to the revolution of the world that might help spare us our world-weariness and enable us to see beauty and joy in the life we are living or the life we may yet live; to realize our privileges and be grateful and therefor inspired to share them.

This is the state of mind in which I explore New Haven to continuously be discovering it. How we choose to see our environment today
defines our Future History as much as the physical facts in which we are surrounded.
